Meet Athena Coroneos

Meet Athena Coroneos, Owner of Hands 2 Heart

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, Licensed Esthetician, Certified Reflexologist, and Reiki Master. I am a 1996 Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy graduate and, most recently, a 2015 Marinello School of Beauty graduate as a Certified Esthetician. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in Connecticut and New York State and a member of the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Bodywork).

My other healing modalities include Organic Facials, Facial Massage/Face Lift Therapy, PCA Peels, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Cupping, Reiki, Cranial Sacral, Thai Massage, Watsu, The Reconnection, Perinatal, Labor, Postpartum Massage, and Infant Massage (my youngest client was two days old). Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy and Pranic Healing. Certified as an Infant Massage Instructor through the Loving Touch Program, I taught an infant massage class to the parents of infants ranging from 10 weeks to 1 ½ years old at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, in August of 1997. I also completed teaching parents in a four-week infant massage class at Dr. Joel Evans, OBGYN's office in Stamford, CT, in August of 1998. In continuing the cycle of reciprocity, I teach on an ongoing basis classes at the Norwalk Public Schools Adult Education on "How to Give a Relaxing Massage" in the fall semester and the spring semesters at the Norwalk Continuing Education.

Academically my undergraduate degree is in Leadership, and my Master's degree is in Special Education with a cross-endorsement of TESSOL.

In addition, I have volunteered to massage the clients of Bread & Roses (an HIV Alternative Health Care Center in Norwalk, CT) and The Centre for Natural Healing in Norwalk, where I worked for 6 years. My volunteer experience continued with the pre-event massage for the Boston Marathon runners in April 2000. This opened up a door for more massage endeavors working with the USA Massage Therapy Team in the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics, where I volunteered my time to work on members of the Foreign Press and, most enthusiastically, on the Olympians of the Winter Olympics. Recently, I went to the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, where I was one of 100 hundred applicants chosen from a field of 500 applicants to work with the USA Massage Therapy team on the Olympians. I continue to volunteer my time with the New York Road Runners Team from 2013 through 2018 and on with the NYC Marathons. I have also had the great pleasure of working on the talented troupe of the American Ballet Theatre, where the dancers impress me with their grace and athleticism.

The newest addition to my adroitness is that I am a Justice of the Peace and Notary Public. I am absolutely positively thrilled at being a Justice of the Peace. I love it!!! What a blessing to join two souls together in marriage. I do not discriminate between body, soul, and gender. I have found that this is a great union of the whole to facilitate the heart, mind, body, and soul in marriage, health, and healing/massage. I will continue to pursue and learn new techniques so that I may grow and nurture and facilitate my clients' needs and healings. My heartfelt goal is to continue collaborative efforts to facilitate my clients, so we may grow together to heal the world globally -- one person at a time.

Blessings.
